Regeneration Project Book and Documentary Launch

The Regeneration Creative Bushfire Recovery Project launched their new book and documentary last weekend at The Centre in Beaudesert. More than two years on from the bushfires in the region, this phase of the project is the culmination of a grassroots recovery project led by Jessica Brown with the participation of hundreds of community members over the past two years.

The Regeneration book weaves together short stories, poems, interviews, photographs, and artwork in a creative tapestry of community experience. This collection of works has been carefully curated, designed and crafted by a group of local designers, artworkers and storytellers who have nurtured the creative recovery project over the past two years.

The book celebrates the community mural project in Beechmont and showcases artworks from the group exhibition held at the Centre Gallery, Beaudesert, 2021.

The documentary by filmmaker, Scott Chrisman, has captured the entirety of the project and provides an intimate insight into how one community responded creatively to the bushfire experiences that affected many Australians over Black Summer 2019/2020.
