Arts Mid North Coast

Creative Recovery Programs

Arts Mid North Coast is the peak body for arts and cultural development across the Mid North Coast region of New South Wales.

The region includes the five local government areas of Port Macquarie-Hastings, Kempsey, Nambucca Valley, Bellingen and Coffs Harbour and embraces the area associated with the Biripi, Dunghutti/Thunghutti and Gumbaynggirr Nations. They are a regional non-profit, incorporated organisation, and part of a state network of 13 Regional Arts Development Organisations (RADOs) that provide the framework for arts and cultural development across regional and rural NSW.

Following the Black Summer bushfires of 2019-2020 and ongoing disaster events in the region, Arts Mid North Coast delivered three Creative Recovery training workshops facilitated by Scotia Monkivitch from the Creative Recovery Network to equip more than 50 local practitioners with disaster recovery and preparedness knowledge and facilitation skills to help their communities.

Throughout the second half of 2022 Arts Mid North Coast provided grants for local practitioners to run Creative Recovery projects, leading to a diverse range of programs across the region in various stages of development. Visit the links below to read detailed descriptions of the full program of individual programs supported by Arts Mid North Coast.

You can access a listing of the range of individual projects that took place or are still in progress at the Arts Mid North Coast website.

Arts Mid North Coast also created a podcast, Art Remedy, to share the stories behind these projects and how they are supporting community resilience.
